Description:
Pittsburgh, the county seat of Allegheny, is commonly known as the "The City of Bridges" or "The Bridge Capital of the U.S.", and is the second largest city in the Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh is situated on land surrounding the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers. The scenic area where the two rivers merge to form the Ohio river is known as "The Golden Triangle". Pittsburgh is noted for bridges of all types, featuring 446 bridges, 151 skyscrapers, two furnicular inclines and a pre-revolutionary fort. City residents are known as Pittsburghers.
The downtown area features Station Square, one of the cities largest tourist attractions. It was built on property of the former Pennsylvania Station, and some of the original structures are still maintained. Featuring stores, restaurants and entertainment venues, Station Square is frequented by Pittsburgh natives as well as tourists.
Pittsburgh's economy was fueled by manufacturing until the 1980s. Now the city's economy is mostly based on healthcare, education, technology and financial services. Robotics, is a major sector of Pittsburgh's economy, which prompted the Wall Street Journal to give the city the moniker of "Roboburgh."
Despite declining population, Pittsburgh remains the principal cultural and economic influence in the eastern Ohio River Valley. Due to its low cost of living, economic opportunities, education, transportation and medical infrastructure, Pittsburgh is consistently ranked high in livability surveys. In 2007, Pittsburgh was named "America's Most Livable City" by Places Rated Almanac.

Airport: The Pittsburgh International Airport was ranked one of the top five U.S. airports by Conde Nast Traveler.
Tourism: An average of 3.9 million people visit Pittsburgh annually.
